MIAMI ERIE TRAIL
NEW BREMEN TO MINSTER OHIO

The  three mile bicycle trail is a crushed stone path from the downtown Historical Park in New Bremen Ohio to the north edge of Minster Ohio which runs along the west side of the Miami and Erie Canal.   A widen asphalt allows access on the side of the roadway extending the trail to a pedestrian bridge to Seventh Street Park in Minster.  The Park roadway and the pave alley to the south continues allow the east side of the canal.

At the south end of the alley is the Dutch Mill.  In the 1850s, it was a "Dry Goods & Groceries, with the owner's residence on the second floor.  The eyehook pictured on the right, still located on the west side of the building, was used to tie up canal boats during the unloading of goods.  The Dutch Mill roughly four blocks west of State Route 66 on West Fourth Street in downtown Minster, Ohio.

At the north end of the trail, New Bremen Ohio has similar historical features including a canal lock, early bridge, and log cabin.
