Six Mile Creek aqueduct is one of the highlights of the canal.  It was designed to drain to maintain the water level of the Miami and Eric Canal by allowing excess water to flow over its spillway down into Six Mile Creek below.

A stone bridge for the towpath parallels each side of the aqueduct which was build in 1903 and updated 100 years later.  A pedestrian bridge now allows visitors to cross the canal.

A vehicle pull-off drive is just north of the creek. 

The pictured below was taken in the spring immediately south of the aqueduct while red bud trees were in  bloom.
