On this set of steps just prior to Upper falls, a second flight of steps goes upward to the right.

This alternative gorge exit to the upper ridge trail, crosses the bridge over the gorge prior to returning to the Old Man's Cave Visitor's Center.  A sign detailing this juncture is posted.
